An American teacher, Daniel Owen, and his 15-year-old son, Cooper, died after being attacked by a swarm of Asian giant hornets while ziplining at an eco-adventure resort near Luang Prabang, Laos.
The pair, who lived in Vietnam, were stung over 100 times each during the rare and deadly incident. Despite being rushed to a hospital, both succumbed to their injuries within hours. The attack has shocked the international community and raised concerns about the dangers posed by these aggressive hornets in Southeast Asia.
